Accessibility

NT Media is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continually work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards across our editorial travel journal.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

This website aims to be partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Measures we take

To support accessibility, NT Media:

  • Uses semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks so assistive technologies can navigate the page structure.
  • Provides text alternatives for meaningful images and marks decorative images appropriately.
  • Maintains sufficient color contrast for body text and interactive elements in both light and dark contexts.
  • Ensures every interactive control is reachable and operable with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Designs for responsive layouts that adapt down to small mobile viewports and respects user font-size preferences.
  • Honors the prefers-reduced-motion setting and limits non-essential animation.
  • Tests new features with keyboard-only navigation and modern screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA).

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible:

  • User-generated media (images and videos within travel stories) may occasionally lack detailed descriptions or captions. We are improving this on a rolling basis.
  • Third-party embeds (for example maps or social media content) follow the accessibility of the original provider and may not always meet WCAG 2.1 AA.
  • PDF documents and downloadable assets published before this statement may not be fully accessible.

Compatibility

This website is designed to be compatible with recent versions of the following assistive technologies and browsers:

  • Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack
  • Browsers: the latest two versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
  • Operating systems: macOS, iOS, Windows, Android

The website is not designed for Internet Explorer or unsupported legacy browsers.
